Parks and gardens
Barcelona counts on an interesting supply of parks and gardens. In these zones of Barcelona you can play, run, ride a bike or just mingle with the local and their social activities.

Ciutadella Parc
The Ciutadella Parc was built over the lands of the old military fortification.
In its interior some buildings of the old fortress still subsist, like the chapel, the Palace of the Governor and the arsenal, at present headquarter of the Parlament of Catalonia. The park is cosy and calm, ideal to relax, with pleasant corners like the great cascade and the lake, flower beds and abundant woods.
In it there is also the Museu de Zoologia, a building planned by architect Domènech i Montaner.
In another zone of the garden are the ample dependencies of the Zoo.
One of its more suggestive corners is placed inside the Umbracle (umbráculo), construction of bricks and wood delimited by fine iron columns, where an abundant tropical vegetation grows.
The Hivernacle (greenhouse), construction of iron and crystal, has been restored for exhibitions and other cultural acts.
Parc of the Castell of l'Oreneta
In this park you will be able to enjoy a wonderful botanical itinerary, strolls with horses and ponies. Besides excursions in the park in a miniature train and circuit of sports there are several areas of infantile games.
The Güell Park
The Güell Park was conceived to create a built-up space in the middle of the nature. Gaudí applied to it all of his knowledge and city-planning restlessness.
In this park of twenty hectares you will not find any straight line. Everything is waved, twisted and winding, creating a magical atmosphere.
In this space and within its structure we can emphasize the room destined to the market that maintains a great terrace with an exceptional view on the city. In order to accede to the room it is necessary to pass through few steps decorated with great imagination and originality patterns.
In this architectonic walking Gaudí, the author, with the aid of the architect Josep Maria Jujol, realised a special contribution in the creation of the bank-railing of the park.
The Güell Park is the work of more magnitude, in extension, of architect Antoni Gaudí.

Tibidabo and Parc of the Laberint d'Horta
The Tibidabo is located in the highest place of the Mountain of Collserola, important zone of forests and park, from where you can contemplate an excellent panoramic view of the city. In this mountain there are located an Amusement Park, the Temple Church and the Tower of Telecommunications that trim their forms onto the city.
The Amusement park, in operation from 1900, combines traditional and symbolic attractions as the Watchtower, that dates from 1921, or the Museu d'Autòmates, with the most modern facilities.
We can accede to the Tibidabo through the legendary Tramvia Blau, authentic sign of Barcelonas identity, that will leave you at the funicular , the last step to get to the top, the Tibidabo Square.
During this stroll in Barcelona, it is not possible to miss, the Parc of the Laberint de Horta, a green space with a special enchantment, a labyrinth where to spend a calm and pleasant awhile. A unique opportunity to enjoy the city with your family.

Parc de Collserola
