The Barcelona-Madrid air shuttle service, known as the "Puente Aereo", literally "Air Bridge", is the world’s busiest route, with the highest number of flight operations (971 per week).
Iberia offer a service between Madrid and Barcelona every 30 minutes. Spanair operates the same route under the name Puente a Barcelona or Pont a Madrid depending on the point of departure, although they have cut back the frequencies recently.
